Process Builder & Workflow Rule to Flow migration checklist

  1. Inventory every active Workflow Rule and Process Builder per object (use the free tool on the home page).
  2. Check pending time-based actions: they stay queued on the old automation. Let them flush or recreate them as scheduled paths before deactivating.
  3. Consolidate per object: one before-save Flow for same-record field updates, one after-save Flow for related records and actions. Don't convert one-for-one.
  4. Map order of execution, especially where Apex triggers run on the same object.
  5. Build in a sandbox, with explicit entry conditions so Flows don't fire on every save.
  6. Test against real scenarios: create, update, bulk (200 records), and the re-evaluation cases your Workflow field updates relied on.
  7. Deploy, then deactivate the old automation in the same window. Keep it for rollback.
  8. Document what each new Flow replaced.

Salesforce's Migrate to Flow tool is a starting point for simple rules; review its output and consolidate.
